The New Moon tonight, the Thunder Moon

Julys moon is called either the Buck moon because this is the season when male deer lose their antlers. Later on this month I will be looking out for antlers on my walks. It is also called the Thunder moon for the summer storms we can expect over the coming month. As I write this there is a thunderstorm. The British weather is unpredictable and dynamic. Lovely and romantic unless you get hit, but at least you will not get hit again.

Between now and the first quarter you will be able to see a close approach of Venus and the moon on the 12th of July which will start from about 9:30pm until 10:30pm.

Enjoy
